Osmaston Community Association of Residents (OSCAR) have named STRATA as the developer for the city’s first and the country’s biggest resident-led housing development. The scheme will involve building 96 homes in Osmaston, of which 40 will be rented out to local people on the housing waiting list.
The homes will be built across two sites with a mix of bungalows, one-bedroom houses and family homes on land at Glossop Street and Elton Road. A planning application for the houses will be submitted before the end of December and work is due to start on site in April 2013.
Derby Homes will let and manage the homes on theassociation’s behalf and have helped OSCAR draw up a lettings policy. Derby Homes have an active role in housing and neighbourhood management in the area and already look after over 1,100 homes.
